When internationally-acclaimed designer and artist Professor Toshihiro Katayama died in January 2013, there was still much I wanted to say to him.

Toshi was a singular talent and one of the most generous souls I've met. What he taught still reveberates in my head, coloring how I experience and interpret the visual world. I believe when a teacher imparts his wisdom--no matter how different the student's style or temperament--a strand of the master's creative DNA is metaphysically combined with the disciple's. That artistic biochemistry creates an unmistakable fingerprint.

Toshee is a way of continuing my conversation with my teacher. I don't pretend to speak for him or intend to draft off his good name; indeed, that would be foolish. Rather, what I strive for as Toshee is to announce to the public that Toshi Katayama's work as an educator, designer and artist is still vibrant, still relevant, still very much with us.

I provide inspired art, design and copy services to clients and collectors who share my love for line, color and the written word.

As a multi-talented contemporary creative professional with a broad skill set,

I've worn many hats:

  • video game producer

  • university teaching fellow in graphic design

  • multimedia consultant

  • web designer

  • sketch comedy writer/producer

  • children's animated tv writer

  • primetime network sitcom writer

  • feature script consultant

  • online music editor/curator

  • blogger

  • gallery artist

I continue to enjoy a passion for all those pursuits, and look forward to opportunities for marrying two or more of them in both highly conceptual and imminently practical projects.
